Ben Starr (born in Bristol, England) is the English actor who plays Doctor Christopher Priestley in SKY's Jamestown.

He is best known for his roles as sniper in Survivor (2015) and Captain James Hawdon in Dickensian (2015-2016).


Ben completed a 2 year postgraduate acting course at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He had his debut role as Adam Watkins in Father Brown (2013). He landed several recurring characters in Tv series such as Paul Stammers in Doctors (2013), Francesco in The Musketeers (2015), Nathan Mason in Casualty (2016) and Donatello in Medici: Masters of Florence (2016). Alongside his film and television career, Ben is also very involved with theater, not just as an actor but also as President of Castle Theatre Company, a member of DULOG and a founding member of DIM. He also voices videogames, such as Company of Heroes 2 (2013) and Quantum Break (2016).


  • He attended Queen Elizabeth's Hospital School for Boys in Bristol and was Captain of School in 2005/2006.
  • White at school he was member of the Great Western Youth Theater of Bristol and HVT Television Workshop
  • He studied History at the University of Durham
  • Alonsgide Naomi Battrick, Niamh Walsh, Shaun Dooley and Paul Rattray, Ben is the fifth member of Jamestown's cast to have worked in BBC ONE TV series Casualty
